Organised by the Pius Brinzeu County Emergency Clinical Hospital and overseen by Prof. Dr Ciprian Duta, a 3-day accredited international course took place, titled: „Improving the skills of medical personnel by developing the abilities of using the robotic approach in surgical oncology”
According to the course description, on the first day participants got an insight into the following topics: The Role of Endoscopic diagnostic of colo-rectal cancer; Neoadjuvant therapy in oncologic treatment for colorectal cancer, the timing of surgical intervention; The role of robotic surgery in colo-rectal cancer treatment; Robotic surgery today, components, instruments; Operating room demonstration. On the second day the following topics were discussed: Gastroenterology diagnostic and treatment for eso-gastric cancer; Actual guidelines for neoadjuvant treatment for eso-gastric cancer; The role of minimal invasive treatment for eso-gastric cancer; Technical considerations in robotic surgery for eso-gastric cancer; Operating room demonstration Robotic surgery , XI simulator, Robotic dissecting, suturing, anastomoses. On the third day participants talked about these topics: The actual standard algorithm for diagnostic in pancreatic cancer; Robotic Distal Pancreatectomy; Robotic Cephalic Pancreatectomy; Operating room demonstration; Robotic surgery , XI simulator, Robotic dissecting, suturing, anastomoses.
